Every year people make a new years resolution to lose weight. But saying it and going ahead with it are two different things. I hope that for those who did made a pledge to lose weight this year make their goal. Losing weight can be very difficult (I know because, I too, am on that journey) but dedication and a solid weight loss plan will pay off in the long run. So far I've lost 15 pounds and hopefully by next New Years, I'll be at my target weight(125 lbs). Whenever I ask someone what's the best way to go about losing weight, I always hear "Diet and exercise are key". But that leaves someone like me with alot of questions like "What kind exercises are best and for how long per day for how many days a week?" And don't get me started on the so-called "diet" fix. There are so many diet gimmicks out here it's just ridiculous. Everything from low carb, to no carb, to prepared meals, liquid and herb diets, going vegge, and a host of other diets that would rack my brain just trying to name them all. I say this: every body is not the same, right? So why should diet plans be? Not everyone can fast for long periods, and not everyone can give up on meat (for me, I'm having a hard time giving up on chocolate). So what would work for someone like that? The best diet plan, in my opinion, is one that you can see yourself on many years later, not just for the time being simply to lose weight. It has to be a diet that you enjoy, one that you won't want to give up at the slightest bit of temptation. Counting calories may be somewhat of a headache, but it's worked for me so far and has helped me make better decisions not only in the types of foods I buy, but the brand and quality as well. My advice to anyone still on their own weight loss journey is to stay dedicated, find a level of comfort in your diet and find which exercises are the most effective in getting the physique that you want. |
